PTE vs IELTS: Comparisons, the key differences and more!
What is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) was created to assist you in moving to a country where English is the dominant language in order to work, study, or move. This includes the USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and others.
During the test, your proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English will be evaluated. IELTS is scored on a scale from 1 to 9.
The British Council, IDP IELTS, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment all share ownership of IELTS.
What is the PTE test?
PTE is a test of English language proficiency that is generally accepted for student admissions and immigration visas worldwide. It employs Artificial Intelligence (AI) scoring, which offers a fair method and quicker turnaround for findings.
The main distinction between PTE and IELTS tests is that PTE tests can only be administered by computer. The opposite is true with IELTS, which only allows exceptional exceptions for online tests in India. IELTS requires your actual presence for a paper-based exam. Even the methods used to evaluate the two tests are very different. IELTS is evaluated manually, but PTE-A employs artificial intelligence to assign scores (providing an objective and error-free method). Additional distinctions include which is more widely accepted, how much it costs, how many tests are permitted each year, and more.
